I thought it was much better than Running With Scissors, although I liked that as well. It is funny in places, laugh-out-loud funny even, but you can also feel his pain in dealing with his best friend's AIDS and in recovering from alcoholism. Excellent book.
Although Dry isn't as funny as Running With Scissors, it's still funny. Augusten Burroughs had a crazy childhood, leading to his dependency on alcohol. This is told in the same very funny way Running was. It's a good read!
