A maniac broke into the house of Officer Benjamin Weston-then brutally snuffed the model cop, his wife and his children. But five year old 'Junior' Weston was hiding in a closet...and somehow avoided the psycho's bloody blade. Another great J.P.Beaumont book.

Someone has killed a police officer and his family. Could it be the gangs from the task force he is working on. J. P. Beaumont must find out. Very good story.

This is a great story. The Teddy Bear Patrol angle is a great idea for any community. Thanks, to J.A. Jance for bringing it up.

The brutal murder of a black cop and his family tests the procedural skills of Seattle police detective J.P. Beaumont, the paperback hero recently promoted to hardcover ( Hour of the Hunter , Morrow, 1991). Jance, who energizes this adventure with slick, made-for-TV plotting, fast-paced action, and canned dialog, focuses on a surviving child witness, possible police corruption, rival street gangs, and Beaumont's previous friendship with the victim. Lean forward, grab on, and ride for adventure

A JP Beaumont mystery. A spellbinding story of lies, betrayal, and multiple murders. What kind of monster would break into a man's home at night, then slaughter him and his family? The fact that the dead man was a model cop who was loved and respected by all only intensifies the horror. But the killer missed someone: a 5 year old boy who was hiding in the closet. Now word is being leaked out that the victim was "dirty". But JP isn't about to let anyone drag a murdered friend's reputation through the muck. And he'll put his own life on the firing line on the gang-ruled streets to save a terrified child who knows too much to live.

And he's ready to trail a killer from the gang-ruled streets to the upper ranks of the Seattle P.D., if necessary, to save a scared litle boy who knows too much to live.
