I really liked this one. It's the Civil War diary of Thomas P. Southwick who joined Duryee's Zouaves (the Fifth New York Volunteer Infantry) in April of 1861. He saw action at Big Bethel, Gaines's Mill, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville.
Southwick had an excellent writing style and his good natured humor runs throughout the book, even when describing harrowing situations.
