WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS POPULAR BOOK? I TRIED THE AUDIO VERSION AND DID NOT FINISH. SOME NEIGHBORS WERE TALKING ABOUT READING THE BOOK FOR THE 2ND AND 3RD TIMES. I PUT ON MY WAIT LIST AT THE LIBRARY  FOR THE AUDIO BOOK, BUT DECIDED THAT I GAVE IT A GOOD TRY AND REMOVED IT FROM LIST. ANYONE THINK THAT I SHOULD GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY FOR THE AUDIO VERSION?

I just got my hands on the audiobook last night from the library. I'm still working on another audiobook, but as soon as it's done I'll be starting Eat, Pray, Love. From what I keep hearing, it's either a "loved it" or "hated it" type of book.

I read everything - cereal boxes, directions for new toys, all manner of books BUT I couldn't get into Eat Pray, Love!  I actually listed a new book on here that I had only read about 20 pages ...

This book is tedious and full of whining. Millions of other women cope with disappointment without spending a fortune.

I could not finish this book.  I found the author's tone whiney and self-indulgent.  I'm pretty sure if I had the good fortune of a year off work and an all-expense paid vacation that I wouldn't whine about it!  This is the first book in years I've had to walk away from.

Well, everyone must think I am either stupid or crazy. I know that this book is non-fiction, but was not thinking when I posted this in contemporary  fiction.

I am so glad you did post this thread here though. I would have missed it elsewhere. I thought it was fiction too so no worries.

PS I was wondering how people felt because I hear from some it was bad and others love it. I think I would be one of the haters.

I liked the book a lot. I love traveling so that's the perspective I put on it.
