Clearie is living in Alaska with relatives she doesn't know, a group of Tlingit Indians. She's determined not to like them. they criticize her mother, for one thing. And Clearie suspects she'll never be accepted in their village.
But Clearie settles in quickly. Before long, she's used to the cold. And her whole life changes as she learns more about her Tlingit heritage. Then, the village is threatened by forces beyond its control. Can Clearie use her new strength to save the place she's grown to love?
