You'll also meet old friends, Graelam and Kassia de Moreton, from Fire Sone, as well as the Kind of England, who is closer to Plilippa than she could ever imagine.

Second in the series, I liked this one better than Fire Song. Phillipa de Beauchamp is a stronger character than Kassie from Fire Song, and the book was more enjoyable because of it. Phillipa's responses to Dienwald's actions were those of a woman who fights for what she wants, which made the story lighthearted and funny.

You do not need to read it order, but it helps a little. The book was ok.
