"it is to be doubted if any american novel has better chronicled our last hundred years, our trek from east to west to discover an eden that always somehow escapes us and that we as a people yet continue to hope for and believe in"

it is an intense read. lots of highs and lows. i remember primarily beth and the twins and what happened. i think i learned that life is not necessarily what you want. sometimes you are just trying to nail jello to a tree
