Deatri King-Bey is a relatively new author, but she writes like a seasoned pro! The pacing of the book, propelled by suspense and the uncovering of details from past events, is excellent. Good reading for those of us who have spouses or partners of a different culture or race.

Great premise but I just couldn't finish the book. I'm all for an escape from reality but this required me to suspend thinking. A woman from the 'hood gets on a train, meets a man and they spend the entire day together and by the end of the day he wants her to move in with her kid. It would be nice if the author at least spent time developing the relationship between them before introducing all the other drama that goes with this woman.

I can't say I liked it or disliked it...I just couldn't finish it...some of it is OK...some of it just didn't work for me...it also has too much going on...but that's just MHO.
