I was not prepared to like this book, but by the end of the first chapter I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I loved the intermingle of themes in this book--and it has it all...romance, deceit, some time-travel, murder, corruption. Lots of twists and turns that were unexpected and kept me reading "just one more chapter before I have to..." You know how it is! Good stuff!

My mother, niece and I all read this one and we all agree that it was a great book. I loved the whole set up: a current day mystery connected to past life events with some of the book taking place in the here and now and the rest taking place in the past. The main character kept being dragged into the past for short periods of time and it was because of this that she was able to figure out what happened in the present and the past and set things right again. Reminiscent of 'The Mirror' one of my all time favorite books.

2nd book of Grady's that I've read. I like her style of writing where she switches back between the past and present to make the story. Enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from Grady.

I really enjoyed this book. Great suspense, wonderful setting with great twists and turns. With two stories, past and present, reads almost like a time travel, yet isn't. Highly recommended.

A whisper of suspicion...a hint of seduction...a vision of fear..

This is a great romantic suspense. I think this is her second book. It is every bit as good as her first one Web of Smoke.

A new author for me but I did go and buy all of her books after reading this one!I finished it in 1 day.Tess Carson is the dependable sister who works and makes sure all is taken care of but her sister Tori is the irresponsible one and when she disappears and leaves a small daughter at scholl and the phone rings in Tess's home you know she is the one to rescue the little girls thinking that her sister will show up as usual..but she walks into a mystery from today and the early west. She is at her sisters and things take a bad turn with the death of her sisters boss...her sister doesn't turn up and money is missing.Looking out the window for insperation she(Tess) sees a horseman looking totally out of place in this modern world and tries to follow him and off she goes into another time. This book was written well and you went back and forth between times without having to try to place people and time.Wonderful book!

Lots of suspense, in this book. It didn't end like I wanted it to, but I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
