McKell is the ultimate alpha male. In fact he is so alpha he could have been so totally annoying. Selfish to the core as well as speaks in demands rather than statements. The reason he wasn't annoying? He actually seemed to be a child at times. Unused to the way the surface humans do things. His inability to make Ava and Noelle do what he wants ends up making him more interested than angry. He is not used to women standing on their own and telling HIM what he needs to do. In fact, the two friends end up being the only ones who capture McKell without losing a finger or two.

Ava is his match in every way. In fact they have lots of things in common including the insecurities they try to hide well. McKell and Ava break through each others blocks and learn to try to fit each other in their lives and hearts. I also loved that both Ava and Noelle had great snark going. Plus, they didn't take anything from anyone else but those they loved. This snark confused and interested McKell and he also learned the art of snark. This I loved. This made me laugh. This also helped make the book a lot of fun. In fact, I laughed out loud several times while reading. My only question during all this fun snark was when McKell would tell Ava "Good girl" when she did something he wanted her to do. By then, of course, she was in love and didn't mind this. If it was me, I would have kicked him in the... oh but then again, I'm sure he was cute when he said it. ;)

I give this book 5 stars. It has action, love, and snark. YaY for snark! It is done well and should make you laugh. I recommend this book for UF and PNR adults. I will also be on the look out for the rest of the series since this was my first introduction to the Alien Huntress series.

Loved this book. It has all the wit, charm and excitement as a Lynsay Sands "Argeneau" book I will definetly go back to start this series from the begining.

Oh i absolutely adored this book. It has everything from laughs to lust. Its takes you in from the moment you pick it up and you just cannot put it down till the end. I bought and read this book within HOURS lol. It was just so interesting i wasn't willing to wait to finish. I'm an impatient person anyway so it works lol. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! You just have to read it to see for yourself. Gena Showalter, again out does herself.

I will admit, i was a little less than enthusiastic about the Alien Huntress series. At least in comparison to the Lords series. But let me tell you this gets a 5 star from me. It was hot, it was funny, and it wasted no time. I never once found myself wanting to skim through to get to another "good part". Gena hit a homerun with this one!

First, I will say that overall, I enjoyed reading the book. The characters were tough but funny, and I liked the interaction between Ava and her best friend and fellow agent-trainee Nicole, as well as the interaction between Ava and McKell. There is some very witty dialogue, and as per the usual Showalter book, the bedroom scenes are hot.

The problems I had with the book were with both the villain and the ending. The actual villain, the Schon Queen, seemed almost cartoonish and unbelievable to me, and the very ending of the book became, in my opinion, ridiculously silly. I also had an issue with how easily someone as tough as Ava was described as being could suddenly become such a simpering, dependent fop over Victor.
Not Showalter's best book, IMO, but not her worst, either.

This has a different feel compared to her Lords of the underworld series, the later being so much better. It was not my type of book, the characters sounded so high school. I finished the book but I don't think I'll be reading anymore in this series!

I love Gena Showalter. I haven't read one book of hers that was a disappointment. She is the queen of witty dialogue between her characters. She makes her characters fun and playful, not bitchy. I was slightly disappointed at how things went down with the Schon queen but at the same time glad that we will be given a slight reprieve from her. She was getting so powerful that I wasn't sure how Showalter was going to get rid of her. There is a nice teaser about Noelle. I wonder if she will end up with Dallas or Hector in the future.

It was a fun, quick read and thoroughly enjoyable.

A good read. Gena Showalter is almost a guarantee that your experience when reading her paranormal romance is that, "wow, where can I get a partner like that?". Just enough sauce to sate the palate. Again, a great escape in reading.
