This is a first book of a series. The series captures all of the nuances of small town life in Montana. In this story, tensions grow between long time residents and "refugees" from Hollywood, as they try to live "side by side." The pressure is on, when the towns prominent citizens start turning up dead and the local rookie sheriff, Jules, has to solve the murders. The characters and the setting are very likeable and the plot line is well written. A very enjoyable borderline "cosy" mystery!

A neat mystery set in Big Sky country - a lot of oddball characters.

Good story -- somewhere between soft boiled and a cozy.
