Search - At the Edge

Dun fans will like it. However, to a new fan, like me, the story seems to drag on, and leaves a lot of loose ends. That the mountain serial killer gets away with many deaths makes no sense; we do not see the police getting involved enough with what they have found nor investigating. Cliche' in the bad guy hires loser henchmen. One minute they are strong; the next they are pathetic. If you are an intelligent lawyer, living in a very small town, and see the same van at various crime scenes, would you be suspicious? No killers have been caught, however, they move about as if nothing happened. If you read the reviews at amazon dot com, most people gave it five stars; however, I must give it only two stars. Clive Cusseler describes this book as "escapist fiction of the first order" -- I agree -- escapist is the correct word. I have just picked up Dun's "Black Silent" and it's tons better. Will post it here after it's read.
