I've searched the forums but no post really answered my question. Can any tags be used in our signature? The only thing mine seems to be able to do is put the text all in an a row (it ignores Returns). It must be possible since I've seen some signatures with fancy effects that aren't blinkies. I'd settle for just newlines.

Are you using Safari? I think I've read before that it does that (doesn't allow line breaks) with the text boxes here.

You can make images and upload them. Or images of text in different fonts. On PBS the term Tags refers to those little boxes on the book page. Are you referring to them?

How do I add an avatar/blinkies to my forum posts?

To add an avatar to your public profile (which will appear on your forum posts also):

Go to your Account Settings
- choose Settings from the dropdown menu under My Account in the toolbar at the top of the site.
- Scroll down to the Public Profile section (or click the link at the top of the page to go there directly)
Click " to the right of the "Change Icon" space. This will let you browse your hard drive to find the picture you want to upload.
- Make sure your picture is a valid file type (gif, jpg, png), and is smaller than the maximum filesize (30kb), and smaller than the maximum allowable dimensions (75px x 75px).

This will also work in the Forum Settings to add graphics to your forum sig.

Thanks for the tip Katy! Safari was the culprit. I opened the site in Firefox and now I have formatting options on all the text boxes in the forums.
