This is a wonderful book! I want to have a shop just like the Cackleberry Club! This is another series by Laura Childs of the Tea Shop and Scrapbooking series. This one by far is my favorite. The characters are well written and their development is solid. I liked Suzanne a lot, much more so than Theo in the Tea Shop mysteries.
Suzanne gets herself involved in the murder of her lawyer and does a little snooping of her own.
I love the comraderie between the three women, and how they stand together through good and bad. The atmosphere of the Club comes through in the writing, and I wish there was a place in my hometown just like it.
Definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

This could be a really good new series for Laura Child. I really enjoy her tea series and am just so-so on the scrapbooking ones. This series includes tea but not to the extent of her other series.
This is about 3 women that run the Cackleberry Club which is a diner, book nook, knitting room and they also sell local homemade goods.
The local lawyer is killed behnd the restaurant and Suzanne finds the body and of course has to figure out who did it. She also gets involved because the city council is accusing her dead husband of taking a $4 million kickback from the building of the new prison in town.
It is an enjoyable book and I look forward to the next in the series

A great beginning of a new series. There is lots of action and alot of mysteries to be solved by the owner of The Cackleberry Club, Suzanne and her team of Petra and Toni. Good development of characters for a first book. I would rank this series just below the Tea Shop Mysteries as my favorite. I will definately be looking for the next installment in this series. A bit of mild profanity, seems out of place actually, doesn't seem to do much for the novel. She'd have been better off to keep up with the standards she has set for Tea Shop. IMHO.
