So I got this message...

"Thank You for sending the book to my mother. My Dad just went into a nursing home this week, so it is good for her to have something to read while he is there. "

I sent the book to the address that's on file and somehow it went to her mother?

If that's the addy listed by the requester, then yes she could have used her mothers.

When we request a book and accept the offer, we have the option of choosing to have it mailed to an alternate address.

Or it's possible the member just gave it to his/her mom and used awkward phrasing. I often order books for my dad and they come to my house. But I might have used similar phrasing a time or two about sending a book to my dad even though physically it was sent to me.

Does it really matter?

When you request a book there is a window where you select to send it to you at the address on file or to an alternate address, you should see this on the requests you've made yourself. As a sender, you won't know the difference unless you read the packing slip, which has slightly different wording for an alternate address.

Ah, that's probably what happened. I never used the alternate address so I didn't pay attention. Got confused at her PM back to me thinking I sent it to the wrong address.
