The story of Snowman, the horse rescued from the dogfood factory who went on to become a world champion jumper, ought to guarantee an amazing book. But Snowman's journey, and that of the man who believed in him, just never gets off the ground here. The author is a competent wordsmith and gives the reader a lot of information about Snowman, his human family, and the world of show jumping, but somehow remains distant and uninvolved.

This is an excellent history of the sport of show jumping and the story of a man and his horse.
