The novel is set in Louisiana, where a serial killer is loose and a movie is being filmed. The story is rich in subplots and regional atmosphere. Misty bayou scenes in which images of life in the past and present mingle. "A fine example of noir fiction."

If you love Louisiana, suspense, the civil war re-enactments or history you will love this authors book. I couldn't put it down and it stayed with me even when I had to.

I think this is one of the best in this series--evocative, descriptive, and some wonderful twists.

Great book. Don't watch the movie with Tommie Lee Jones, its terrible.

Excellent book, the author puts you right there with the actors. I found that reading the book first then watching the movie is the best as the movie does leave alot out and you would not be in the dark about what is going on as much. Makes the movie easier to watch and understand what is going on.

This is the first book I've read from Mr. Burke but it probably won't be the last. I found In the Electric Mist to be a very satisfying atmospheric thriller. Burke clearly loves New Orleans but doesn't hesitate to show the dark side of the Big Easy along with the beauty.
