Wilbur Smith is a new author to me. I am delighted to find books so rich in story line and detail, and intend to read everything he has ever written. I read a lot, and it takes a special kind of writing to pull me in and immerse me in the characters and story. Even when Smith's rendering of the details of a harsh land and existence make me cringe, his books have been impossible for me to put down.
Fantastic author, marvelous books, I recommend him to anybody who is in dire need of a book that will catch, hold, and mesmerize him or her.

This was the fifth Wilbur Smith book I've read and I still can't get enough. He takes a history lesson and turns it into fantastic thriller that will keep you awake at night wondering how the next scenario unfolds.
