I'm going to start posting Elfquest comics to PBS.  These are mostly the side stories: Hidden Years, New Blood, Kahvi, Jink, The Rebels, and maybe a few of the originals.  Theye are all in plastic with backer boards and are in pristine to near pristine condition.

Thanks,

Jill

Please check out my inventory for my other books as well!

comic books are not postable on PBS....

From the Help Center:

Advanced Reader Copies: NO

  • These are not the "final" copies of texts

Magazines: NO

  • These often contain advertising and cannot be sent MediaMail; even if not, the category is banned from PBS.

Pamphlets/Booklets/leaflets without ISBNs: NO

  • These sometimes contain advertising; members also complain at having to pay a credit for these.
  • Leaflet/pamphlets/booklets with ISBNs may be posted: if so, the number of pages must be included in the item description.  (leaflets/pamphlets  have less than 20 pages; booklets have less than 50 pages.)

Single-Issue Comic Books: NO

  • These often contain advertising.

I'm not sure that Elfquest would be considered a comic book.  I thought these were actually Graphic Novels.  Not to put too fine a distinction on it but, the Elfquest books I've seen are 200+ pages bound books found in the Graphic Novels section of the bookstore and retail at over $30.  I'm going to go ask around about this...

OK after looking around-there are Elfquest Comics and Elfquest books.  So single issue Elfquest comics may not be posted here.  The graphic novels (the big, expensive, anthology ones) would be ok as long as there was no advertising.

That said, there seems to be more than a few of the comics in the system....posted a link to them in the Suspicious Items Thread.

I'd never seen that before and I succesfully traded about 60 Elfquest comics back around Christmas.  I can tell you someone got a really nice Christmas gift!  Thanks for the advice.  I will ask Richard and Robert just to be sure since these have no advertising in them.

You could always offer them free with an order from your shelf as well if they say no.

Jill, can you please tell me how many pages each of these books contain? That is one of the determining factors in whether or not they can be posted. The other is whether or not they are considered COMIC BOOKS, and whether or not they have any advertising AT ALL in them.

Can you send me a PM, since we have recently discussed this issue with R&R. I can help you determine whether they are legal items or not.
