"Tell me no lies "is one of my favorite Elizabeth Lowell cassettes. Lindsay Danner is very good at her work. She's very honest. She has a special gift for appraising Bronze art work. Enter Jacob MacArthur Catlin. He is excellent at what he does. He's wanted in several countries, and rumors of his death have been greatly exagerated. Lindsay is recruited by the U.S. government to find out if the Chinese artifacts that are being rumored to be smuggled into the U.S. are genuine or fake. Catlin is hired by an official of the Chinese government to protect Lindsay, but who's going to protect Lindsy's heart from Catlin.
"Midnight in Ruby Bayou is a Donovan family novel. Faith Donavon creates exquisite jewelry. Someone has stolen a Ruby from Russia that people are willing to kill for. Owen Walker has been hired by Honor's family to protect her. The "Ruby" is missing, but had been a part of the shipmentof rubies that Honor has been to hired to make into a necklace, for a friends wedding. Someone, very willing to kill, thinks Faith has the ruby.
Honor and Owen travel to her friends future in-laws to a place called Ruby Bayou. There are secrets, and old ghosts at Ruby Bayou, and a story that is haunting, suspenseful and very worth reading, or in this case, listening to.
"Eden Burning" is the 3rd story in this collection. Nicole Ballard is an artist and a dance instructor in Hawaii. She is divorced and does not talk about the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her X-husband. Chase Wilcox is a bitter, divorced man who is afraid that Nicole is a home wrecker, who will ruin his brother's marriage. He makes a bet with his brother that he will be able to seduce Nicole in short order. He wins the bet, but at a great cost to the relationship with his brother, and at a great cost to the woman, who in a very short time, has fallen in love with him. When Nicole goes out, leading a group of children on a hike up a volcano that should be close to extinct, and the volcano errupts, can Chase get there in time to save Nicole and the children? Can he save a true love that his own bitterness came very close to ruining? Although these three stories were abridged they were still a very intriguing listen. I would highly recomend this collection.
