From Oct. 16 to Nov. 15 i traveled on VIA and Amtrak on a 30 day train trip and a "hidden gen" I found was this book store in Seattle, Washington. Wish I could of spent hours rather than minutes searching the many titles avaible.

seattle was my favorite city on the trip even though I was only there 30 hours. Was a thriving, bustling city with great shope and the city has had the sense to retain much of the charm of the "old city".

I just went to Seattle for the second time this summer.  It is a great city, one of the only places I would ever consider moving to.  Didn't go to any bookstores though, but next time I'm there I'll check this place out.  Thanks :)

Would love to hear more about your train trip - wow a month!  That sound intriguing.

I am native to the seattle area and a few independant bookstores do remain.  I love it here, but honestly more for the great outdoors then anything.

If you wanna see a rocking bookstore, check out Powells in Portland.  It covers like an entire block - new and used books.

I agree about Powells in Portland. Used to live in Portland and went all the time. You can find anything there. Always go there when i go to Portland.

Ditto on Powell's in Portland--they have a copy of just about everything!  They also have Powell's online...same store, different venue.
