My daughter absolutely loved this book. It was hard for her to understand the dialect at first. Once she got past that though, she couldn't put the book down.

I have read Elsie Dinsmore countless times, and have the entire 28 volume collection saved for my own daughters. The story endears you to a young girl who is devoted to the Lord and strives in every way to serve and become more like Him. She endures various harships stemming from her mildly abusive relatives and guardians, until her long-lost father finally comes home to "rescue" her. The book is filled with scripture, prayer and acts of devotion to the Lord. Elsie is portrayed as a very obedient and devote example of a young Christian.
