Elsie faces not being able to marry the one she loves because of her respect for her father and his opinion. Elsie shows a respect for authority and doesn't give in simply because of her feelings or what her circumstances are. She is a shining example of what a godly woman should be and I really liked the lesson that is taught that those who are responsible for us truly know best if they follow God.
Elsie books are much needed for todays young girls and those who want to live the Christian life. The inspire to be pure and strong and follow the Lord instead of the worldly rebellion so many of todays books promote. Not only do they encourage godly living but also teach history, and social customs of the 19th century.
Girls are inspired to have a closer walk with God. Worth the money and books every Christian mother that to encourage her daughter to live the Christian life will want these books for their girls. Timeless even though they were written in 1860's.
