I just wanted to rave about this author- while new to me, she's been writing the Mrs. Jeffries books for sometime.

If you like books set in England, and like spinster sleuths like Jane Marple, I think you should check out Mrs. Jeffries- the housekeeper for Inspector Witherspoon of Scotland Yard. Mrs. Jeffries is a widower whose husband had been a constable for over twenty years allowing her to pick up many of his methods, and she helps the kind hearted Inspector solve his cases with their housekeeping staff- he is naive and has no idea he is receiving help, and to keep from hurting his feelings, they won't let on. Each of the characters is endearing. I love them all!

They are probably the coziest lot of books I have read to date, and I found a good deal here by wishlisting "Mrs. Jeffries Learns the Trade" which is a hardback of the first three books. A nice way for a novice to the series to start out.

Not an advertisment- these are keepers for me and won't be on my shelf. I just wanted to share how lovely they are with my mystery loving friends at PBS.
