Hmm, I'm not so sure how I feel about them making a movie from Something Borrowed and Something Blue. Don't get me wrong - I loved Something Borrowed and it's on my keeper shelf. And I really liked Something Blue - especially since the main character (Darcy) wasn't all that likeable in Something Borrowed and I found her turnaround makes that book. I'd be worried about how the characters are portrayed - it's such a fine line to make Darcy not a caricature. Is Kate Hudson portraying her? Please don't have them make her a joke. Do you know the actor who will portray Dex?

I read the ARC of Heart of the Matter and was torn about how I felt about it. I loved hearing about Rachel and Dex! I liked reading each woman's perspective, but I thought that Valerie (the other woman) was a little too much of a stereotype (the needy other woman) and I thought Tessa was a little too bland. And I felt I didn't know Nick at all. I couldn't put it down, but I thought it was rather depressing. I did give it 4 stars (out of 5) and I'm glad I read it, but overall I didn't love it.

Colin Farrell, John Krasinski, and Colin Egglesfield.  ~~those r the male actors

kate hudson said on the EG website that they r pretty much sticking to the book, some things have to be changed from book to screen, but other than those little things, they r supposed be to stay w/ the book. and i agree if they r gonna attempt Something Blue, Darcy cannot be wacky. otherwise no one will connect w/her and wanna see HER movie.

and i havent read HotM yet, backed up on others, but im also hearing mixed reviews." that u cant put it down,  but...  "  that kinda thing. so ive been passing it by when i have free book time. i wasnt all that impressed w/the 3rd  book either, but had to read it bc i love the author.

thank you Dagmar!! :)

ok so i figured out Colin Egglesfield will play Dex, and he is the character who just left Melrose Place, Oggie i think was his name, he beat out Peter Facinelli 4 the part, who i would have loved to see play Dex, just my opinion, lol

and John will play Ethan

I just finished reading Something Borrowed and Something Blue.  Now I can't wait to see the movie.:)

Question.....Are the other books (Baby Proof, Love the One You're With, Heart of the Matter) linked to these books?  Do Darcy and Rachel make appearances in them?  TIA

Diana, Baby Proof and Love the One you're With are NOT related @ all.

and it looks like Rachel & Dex might be in the HotM book from what Dagmar wrote.

Thank you Jamie!

I like Kate Hudson, but isn't Darcy a brunette?:)

I hadn't heard about the movies but am very excited about it!

I absolutely LOVED Heart of the Matter, It's very serious yet light reading, I actually closed my door at work and read the second to last chapter because I was on the edge of my seat thinking about the next turn of events! I've read some good books this year but this is the first one that I LITERALLY couldn't put down. I think the varying perspectives were done wonderfully, I was a little mad by the ending, I thought it was all wrapped up too nicely. I'm not one of those people that says "divorce" everytime there is an affair involved, I believe the circumstances and people need to make that decision for themselves, I just felt like the wife went away not really knowing the whole truth and that made me mad.

I did not realize until reading this thread that Rachel from HotM was the SAME Rachel in Something Borrowed....it all fits together now! lol It's been so long since I had read Something Borrowed that it didn't click right away.

Baby Proof does have Ethan and Darcy in it - they're mentioned in a page or two. It's like 5 years later and if you know the characters, it's interesting to find out what's happened to them - if you haven't read the previous books, it won't matter to you.

Tessa, the wife in Heart of the Matter, is the sister of Dex. So, yes, Rachel and Dex are in Heart of the Matter quite a bit (and you get Dex's perspective of cheating...)

I didn't care for the ending (just a little too neat) which I won't talk about here so that I don't give anything away to those who haven't read it yet.
