The authors decide to observe the 40 days of Lent by going to the streets and living among the homeless -- taking only the clothes they were wearing. They soon discover how "invisible" the homeless are. Although often hungry, cold and unsure of where they will sleep, what they miss most is being "visible". No one wants to look at them. As the authors continue in their journey, they raise some interesting questions on the policies we have in place to "help" the homeless.
