what an amazing book! It hooked me and kept me reading and more importantly thinking. A thought experiment that will keep you in the story long after you finished reading it! the conversations between characters can get a bit taxing in a few places but it is all valuable and interesting to the characters.
Scharlett Thomas has created a world where the possibilities and dangers are unlimited. As the characters develop and grow the reader mirrors it. the more I read the more enlightened I became. I wanted more, especially after reading the last word. what a beautiful thing this book is and I find myself thirsting for more, more of the worlds, the characters, and knowledge.
I suggest reading this book with no pretenses and an open mind. Ive already passed my copy on to a friend hoping to spread the knowledge I found between its covers!

This book has haunted me since I first read it three years ago. I still think about it all the time. The main character, Ariel, is interesting and human. The plot is full of mystery and suspense and adventure. Few books have ever achieved this level of originality and entertainment.

It's entirely possible this book may actually be cursed. Once you read it, your brain changes.

It's no "popco." All that time travel/thought paradox nonsense gives me a headache, although I still enjoyed the writing. If philosophical novels are your thing, you might enjoy this.

What a wonderful book! My head hurts with all the information but it's a good hurt! I couldn't put the book down to see where the author took me. I can't wait to read another by Scarlett Thomas.

One of the blurbs on the back of the book says something to the effect that you will finish this book wiser than you started. I totally agree and would add that you'll be thoroughly entertained as well.
