I originally posted this in Religion and Spirituality, but wasn't sure just how many Christians go there.  We've been having such an interesting conversation that I thought I would bring it here to see what everyone else's thoughts are on this issue.

I am wondering if any of you Christians are thinking that we *may* either be living in, or getting close to, "End Times" as predicted in the Bible?

For example:

Our money has gone from cash, to checks, to credit cards, to debit cards, to online electronic wage deposits and bill paying ("cashless").  It seems more and more like actual "money" is becoming obsolete.  And it also seems that our money (American paper money) is looking more and more European...perhaps trying to phase all countries money into one?

Also, we have come so far in technology that a lot of people are hearing the Gospel of Christ...even amongst missionaries in remote places.

We have had wars, rumors of wars, a lot of natural disasters, etc.

I have been seeing great revival, especially in our (general) youth.

There is a great acceptance of "all religions" and beliefs (eventually to evolve into one world religion)...there have been many false "christs" (cult leaders--"Many will come in My name").

Anyway, I am curious as to what other Christians are thinking about the way scripture seems to be coming to pass before our eyes.  Not saying the end of the world is tomorrow or anything!  LOL!  Just curious about the obvious signs, and what others think.  :o)

Yes! Is that another school shooting, flood, tornado, terrorist attack?

That's what I think. More instances, closer together. I see it.

If you go to www.raptureready.com they list alot of them, from the Bible to today what is happening in the world.  You'd be amazed at what all has already gone on and what is happening today!

I posted this link under "Church Chat", but will post it again here.  www.endtime.com.

I definately feel that we are in the last days.  More curious as to when the final 7 years will begin.

I just got this book today, Prophecy for Today, and wow what a book.  There is so much to take in and think about. I'm not yet half way through, but I know I'll read all day tomorrow.

Pat I was raised to believe that the Rapture would occur BEFORE the tribulation (final 7 years) began. Just like in the Left Behind books.

I think the best book about the end times prophecies is Adrian Rogers' Unveiling the End Times in Our Time. He has some really interesting ideas. However the main thing you will take away from this book is his statement that if you TRULY believe that the end times are here, you ought to be out witnessing, not worrying and wondering exactly when the Rapture will occur. Our pastor said something similar just a few weeks ago.

Truly believe that our going home is right around the corner!

I totally agree with Bren H., we should be out there witnessing and sharing the gospel with whom ever we come in contact with or anyone who will listen.  Praying for those we might meet each new day, that God will give us the strength and courage to not miss one oppurtunity to share the salvation message.  It should also, bring us to revival in Christ, I know from personal expierence, I have been sleeping, and all that has been going on, sure has been a wake up call for me!  I use the Rapture Ready site quite often, this is a good site.  I am going to check out the endtimes.com site, I haven't been there yet.  Thanks for sharing that site.

HOLD ON, WE ARE IN FOR A RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

I am very interested in Bible prophecy; not because I focus on wondering or worrying, just because I am in deep awe of how things unfold exactly as the Bible says. To me, this is just one more concrete piece of evidence that there is One True God and He is all-knowing and all-mighty.

Ever since I read "The Seat Beside Me" by Nancy Moser, I have been SO convicted to speak of Christ as frequently as I can. Sometimes all it takes is a tiny opening and you will find that people expand the "God conversation" themselves by asking you questions. I have always been somewhat timid about witnessing, thinking that I wasn't smart enough or Biblically trained enough, but this book made me really see that I cannot use those tired old excuses any more.

I guess there is always going to be debate about pre-millenial vs post-millenial and I don't pretend to know the answer. I am just glad that I know I will be going with Him when the call comes!!

Now is the time our TRUE Faith will be put to the test. Are your really faithful even in the tough times? Will you believe God is with you if you loose your job, your house, your love ones??? Will you say "It is well with my soul" after it is over.  I believe the end is in sight and no matter who wins or what the white house does or doesn't do will change anything.  Do you Really Believe and what are you doing today to serve God?  Have you said Here I am and then sat down??  Listen closely  he is whispering your name.

I think that we are obviously getting closer to the end-times.  There are so many things going on in the world today that just make it seem like a net is being thrown over the citizens of earth to force us into submission to a global entity or leader.  I think we're getting closer, but I don't think that it is quite upon us yet.

I'm not one that really subscribes to the whole pre-tribulation rapture theory.  Truthfully, I don't hold tightly to any end-times theories.  I think we need to study them all and decide what we need to be doing in light of them all.  If Jesus returns for His people before the Tribulation, then we need to be telling as many people about Him now as we can.  It could happen at any time, you know!  But, if He comes during or after the Trib period, then we need to not only be witnessing--we need to be preparing ourselves to become the enemies of the world.  We would be hated, hunted, slaughtered.  This would be a global persecution that has been unparalleled in human history.

What would you do if they started water-boarding Christians to get us to denounce Christ?  What about worse forms of torture--like watching your loved ones killed in front of your eyes?  Would we cave in and take the Mark if they did this?  Are we gonna bow if they make us bleed?

I'm only asking these questions to make you look at both possible theories--not to scare anyone.  If we live through the rise of Antichrist, then things will be far worse than I have hypothesized.

One of the things I remember reading about is that in the end times the people will be "crying out for leadership." Has anyone else noticed how not one, but several of the big news networks have been asking since this economic crisis began, where is a leader? Who is going to bring us out of this? And NO ONE is stepping forward - not Obama, not McCain, not some big corporate CEO - one of the news networks actually issued a challenge to someone to step up to the plate and offer a viable solution - agreed to give them free air time and everything - they've been running the challenge for over a week now and not ONE person has responded to it.

We as Christians might not be here for the tribulation, but that does not mean we won't see the times leading up to it. The Anti-Christ could be alive in this world even now. Keep your eyes open for a total nobody from the Middle East who happens to be extremely good looking to suddenly start making an appearance in the news. Although he may not show his face until the Rapture has already occurred...

I believe that there are many times in history that things were right for end times ex: The great depression.I believe when the time comes we won't need to ponder this question,we will be too busy watching the sky.God's power is so awsome it will be unmistakeable.God did not say he would return the day after all the sign are there. All the signs could be in play and it could still be a long time.I'm not a master on this subject this is just my opinion.I choose to live every day to the fullest and love like there is no tomarrow.

I agree with you Selenasmom--about how People have assumed the end of days-rapture-end of times-what have you, has been hinting upon us ever since the idea came about 1700+ years ago.

Live life to the fullest, and be good to yourself, your family, your neighbors, and the planet for goodness sake. Not just for, or only for, religious sake.

And also--watch a movie called Thief in the Night--a 1970s classic. It's on youtube.
