It's been a long time since I read a book by this author. Yes, it's well written but I thought the plot has been overused. Alexandra Cooper, as usual, finds herself coping with a killer who intends to do away with her but, of course, she survives. Finding herself buried beneath a floor, a coworker rescues her and the second time she manages to overpower the killer herself.

I liked the links to Poe and the quotes so very much. They added much to the tale, more than the story itself, and whetted my appetite to read more of Poe, returning both to his poetry and his short stories.

i really like this series of books. It doesn't really have to read in order like so many
have to but it does help with character building. Theplots and subject matter are always spellbinding plus I've yet to know "wo done it" until the very end.

Workers demolishing a 19th century brownstone where Poe once lived discover a human skeleton standing-entombed-behind a brick wall. Linda Fairstein delivers a chilling new Alexandra Cooper thriller in which Alex matches wits with the master of detective fiction himself-Edgar Allen Poe....

I really like the suspense of this book.
