Thought I might add this topic so we can share when we find e-readers themselves on sale!

Bens Outlet has the Nook Tablet for $79.  This is the previous version of the tablet, not the new one with Google Play.

They also have a Kobo Vox tablet for $59

That's a great idea. Kobo has sale on the Kobo Arc which might end today. Well it might be over, though there is still a banner on the main ereader page. I'm waiting for a sale on the Kobo Aura HD...

And from this site I learned that you can get $20 off the Kobo Glo or the Arc.

If you watch 1saleaday.com, they often have Nooks and Kobo ereaders.

For example, their Flash site today has the Kobo VOX7 ebook tablet for $54.99

The Kobo Mini sale is now nearly world wide. You will be assimilated!  I like my Mini, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one for that price! Kobo seems to have a world domination master plan...

I picked up a new Nook HD today at BN - still on sale for $129.  I love it!!   This thing does everything.  I can even load Kobo and Amazon to it.

Sherri what color did you get? I've always liked the look of that model better than the traditional Nook Color/Tablet look.

I broke down and got the Nook HD+ a couple of days ago.  Still getting used to it.  After reading on my Simple touch the HD is incredibly heavy, but I'll likely not use it for reading as much as surfing, video etc.

I got the HD in white, which is lighter than Sharon's HD+.    It's also lighter than my former Nook Tablet.  I really like it.  Still playing with all the features.  When they added Google Play I think it really ramped up it's usefulness.

Lots of issues with the Vox, from what I have read.

Sherri I like the look of the white one! That's the one I'd get, if I was in the market for a tablet.

Actually I am seriously thinking of getting the bigger one, the Nook HD+ 16gb, for $149. It is simply a phenomenal deal. After running against issues with DD's Lenovo AGAIN, I think she could use a new tablet. But this one will be for all the kids to share. I may run down to the store tomorrow and take a look at it.

I didn't get the HD+ only because of the size.  I wanted the smaller tablet for reading and to carry in my purse.

Oh I totally understand that. I like the smaller size, myself. But the HD+ will be for the kids. I think they will love the bigger size.

I was thinking of pulling the trigger on the QVC deal but I have no idea what email I have an account with them. Oh well....maybe I'll call them later tonight.

I was able to order one this morning. Nook HD+ 9" 32 GB with 2 chargers. I don't think the kids will run out of space, now! I imagine they'll be fighting over this one.

Hah! I told my DH I ordered it and he's claimed it for his trip to the beach next month.

I hope the family will. I don't plan to use it, much. I don't use my tablet (kindle fire HD 7) that much. I do all my reading on my Kobo Glo, Mini, or Kindle Paperwhite. I am hoping DH will really like it, then it can be his. I have tried to interest him in tablets before. As the Nook I ordered is bigger, chances are he will like it better than the 7" size. I'll mess around with it, probably put ADW launcher on it, and various apps. I am the device administrator around here so I get to play with everything.

This review gives a great recommendation for a 7" tablet:

In my opinion, the Hisense Sero 7 Pro is the best 7-inch tablet on the market at this time (June 2013). Even if it were $50 more I would recommend it over anything else, including the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD.

So far I'm liking the Nook HD+.  I'm travelling and using it right now at the hotel.

Looks like B&N have announced that they're not going to produce any more tablets, but let a third party do it. Most are guessing they'll work with Microsoft and integrate their reader program on the Microsoft tablets. They already have the Nook app to do this anyway.

They have said they'll continue to produce e-ink machines, though.

Strange, isn't it....I'd say get the Nook HD or HD+ now, while you can, because who knows what, if any, tablets they might have in the future. There are a lot of good quality cheap tablets coming out this year, from what I read, which makes me doubt that BN will ever have another tablet offering, even from a third party.

I'd be interested in a new e-ink from them, if they can pull it off. They can sometimes come up with great stuff that nobody else has (yet).

Images of a Sony PRS-T3 have been 'leaked'.... Here.

But no real word on screen resolution, front-light or anything.

I love the Sony's, and have a bunch I use all the time. But I'm not sure what changes they'd have to make to get me to buy another one. I'd love more internal memory, and an OS that actually could handle thousands of epubs without fritzing out. (And I mean really handle them, not just 'theoretically' handle them.)

I'm kind iffy about a front light. I have a Paperwhite and Nook Glow, and find they're hard on my eyes in the dark. They don't have good contrast with fonts in full dark, and I keep seeing them looking like a transparent blue font with the light on rather than a true black font. I'm not sure Sony's would be any different.

There's really not much need to put out a new model if it's not really different.

Yes, I agree, it's too soon for me to say if I'd want the new Sony or not. Probably not, unless they can really wow me. Same goes for Kindle and Kobo. I like what I have, and if they can't wow me I won't be getting their next releases.

5" front light would temp me, no matter who made it.
