I want to start reading more erotica but don't really know any authors.  Anyone care to toss some authors my way? lol

There are TONS in just about every setting/topic you could want t hanks to ellora's cave and a few others. What are you looking for? erotic romance? just erotica? historical, contemporary, suspense, more 'out there'? we've had threads here off and on about erotica and the Games forum usually has a game or two going on in erotica (get some great ideas looking at their reveal list!)

anyways some I've read liked include jory strong, lena matthews, lisa marie rice, mackenzie mackade, lora leigh..have a stack of others to try.

My recommendation: look at everyone's WL.  You'll get lots of ideas.

I read a lot of erotica, and write short reviews of most of the ones I read, if you want to take a look.

...also, sometimes its good to pick up an Anthology, featuring different authors.   It can be a nice way to check out several different authors.

for anthologies I've liked ellora's cave 'white hot holidays'..think there are 3 then they changed to a different name like quickies or christmas or somethng like that.haven't read any of those yet!

oh I also liked charlene teglia's 'satisfaction guaranteed' and 'wild wild west' - each has 3 'short' stories

I really liked Satisfaction Guaranteed.   And, I was lucky enough to find Wild Wild West (Hardcover) at a thrift shop, for a buck!   Haven't read it yet.

wow it's definitely worth a buck! I got this from the last erotica swap game. Neither was what I expected though...her bondage stuff is very playful instead of so hard-core serious like some.

I like a lot of the Cheek line by Virgin Books. I don't really like paranormal books and a lot of times I feel like thats what the epubs have tons of. Or the contemporary erotic romances by the epubs have a "Harlequin Presents" feel to me, which I don't like either. But I've read most of the books in the Cheek line and enjoyed most all of them.

Hmm, they did but then they revamped it. Let me see if it's back online.

Okay it is. Here's the http://www.cheek-books.co.uk/

And here's the blurb describing the imprint (which now explains why I like these books!):

Emerging out of Black Lace, we created Cheek for the younger contemporary audience. Cheek is about the pleasure of romance and the intensity of sex which accompanies it, but it is also about the pleasure of shopping, travelling, pampering and enjoying all that young life has to offer.

ETA: Hmm, I just clicked on the link and it looks like there's some kind of problem. I get a notice that says there's no such site. Idk... Like I said, I know Virgin redid their whole website so maybe that's not back online yet. I would think you could probably do an Amazon search for them though.

Shannon McKenna does not officially write erotica but her novels are usually a lot steamier than typical romance (some of her books are available here.) Diana Whiteside is another borderline. Susan Johnson. Emma Holly.

Ok, so I'm totally new to this but can someone explain what putting something 'in the box' means?  I've posted about ten books so far but I'm finding that nothing on my wish list is available.  Right now I'm hooked on ellora's cave and the like.  At this rate I won't be 'swappin' anything I'll just be giving away!

Thanks!

Well, erotica is very Hot right now. A lot of us have our entire WL's filled up with it! About the best way to get it is to get into a swap.

There's two erotica swaps going on now - one that's a virtual box (it just keeps on going and going and going) and another that's a white elephant (someone can steal the book you've selected). The Virtual Box swaps are where you put in xx number of books. When your turn comes around, you can take out as many books as you want (I just picked 7of them!) but, you have to place that number of books back into the 'box'. In this type, no one can steal your books that you've selected. For this one, we're in the middle of a round but you can PM the hostess (the person that creates the game) and get your name on a wait list to get in the game. That's what I did and how I finally got it. I just had to wait until the previous round was completed. Ellora's Cave is one of my favorites.

I have a couple of duplicates here. I'll take a look at Elizabeth's and Candi's WL to see if I have anything on there for you. Feel free to PM me with any questions as I don't check these discussions very often.

Some of the authors I like are Madison Hayes, Lucy Monroe, Shelly Laurenstein, Lora Leigh, Noelle Mack, Jaid Black, Deliah Devlin, Cathryn Fox, Jodi Lynn Copeland, Karin Tabke, Bonnie Edwards, Sunny, Kathleen Douglas, Kathleen Dante. Those are just a few. :-) Along with all the others mentioned above!

There's the paranormal erotica too. An author I just found is melissa MacNeal. I'm still trying different authors - there's just so many!

Kathleen

If you like spanking I just read a book by Erin Gordan called Lessons to Love.  It's the first of a trilogy about a couple into BDSM.  THis is the first book where they meet.

Robin Schone writes really good romantic erotica.  I have a huge stack of Ellora's Cave erotica, it is the best.  My favorite erotica authors are:

Lora Leigh

Jaid Black

Shannon McKenna

Emma Holly

Shelly Laurenston

Cheyenne McCray

Angela Knight

Shiloh Walker
