Search - The Escape (Animorphs, Bk 15)

I thought this (and the series) is a great book for any age. I think that because they're "kids" books that they've been quite under-rated because I've found some great humor in them, especially when the kids have to learn to deal with their different morphs. An overall very good story!

I read these books when I was in late elementary school through 7th grade. I am posting all of them which I own. When I was younger I really enjoyed them.

Llmost nothing could be as bad as finding out your mother is Visser ONe. The most powerful of all Vissers. The leader of the Yeerk invasion of Earth. But it happened to Marco. And even thought he's been handling it pretty well, he knew there'd come a time when he'd have to face her again.Knowing that the Yeerk in gher brain had taken his mother away.

ISBN 0590494244 - First, I'm not an Animorphs fan and this book isn't the one that's going to change my mind. The greatest problem for newcomers to the series will be that it is, in part, in another language. Vissers and Yeerks and Leerans, and really, it's not worth getting your brain in a twist to riddle it all out. If you ARE a fan, apparently you'll be disappointed to find out that Marco, usually the funny guy, is not a one dimensional character.

Marco's mother, presumed dead but actually the current host to Visser One - THE bad, bad guy - is back and up to something underwater. To find out what she's up to, and to put a stop to her plans, the Animorphs will have to acquire a shark morph and face an underwater battle. To make matters worse for Marco, the others don't know what he's dealing with - to destroy their enemy, they'll have to destroy his mother!

The mention of Howard Stern was a little surprising in a book aimed at kids. As an adult, if I was looking for books for my kids, I'd probably take a pass on the whole Animorphs series - and I'd definitely skip this one.
