I was perusing my wish list and while most of my wish listed items have always shown N/A on the estimates since that started -  today ALL of them show N/A even the ones that previously said so many weeks and they still had wishes granted this week.  Does anyone know if this is something they are doing away with or is it just coincedence that all of mine have turned to N/A or is there something else at work here?

Same with mine - must be glitches as they enhance.

I'm guessing they're trying to improve the algorithm.  I would love it if they factored in the rate that people drop off of a particular list, as this would improve it a lot.  Currently they're only factoring in the rate books are posted which leaves out so many variables.

Most likely means that book was not posted in the previous 7 days--if there's no posting the estimate changes to N/A.

I view this feature (so far) like I do the similarity index - it's "fun" but unreliable feature.

On my list, even books with 6 posted in the past week have lost their estimate, so I think changes or tweaking of some sort are afoot.

Yes one of mine shows 6 posted in the last week but still shows N/A as the estimate.

I may be wrong, but it looked like the original formula was only looking at a forward moving last week -- based on wishes granted last week and your position in line. Perhaps a new probability formula is being created that will look at a range of weeks average. As caviglia had mentioned, there's so many variables. Let's see... the planets are aligned in such a way that...

Update: Estimates are back. At this time, it looks to be the original forumla.

Daniel, don't forget the weather, flu epidemics, sun spots, the machinations of the Illuminati, and the power of positive thinking.

That's funny, my list still has numeric estimates for any book that was posted at least once in the last 7 days.  And I don't see any of the N/A books showing a posting in the last 7 days.  I guess I should stop obsessing over my wishlist, eh?
