In 1979 he was arrested by members of the newly installed Khomeni regime. Fearing for their safety the children were sent to the west.

Very interesting memoir. Amazing to learn what families in Iran were going through in the 70's and 80's, while I went through life as an oblivious American teenager consumed with petty adolescent concerns! Also covers the author's experiences as a teen immigrant to the U.S.
