This book was first published under the title "Sweet Surrender."
Great book
Great read.
This story takes us from a mother's unusual plan to keep her daughter away from a fortune hunter, to a brothel in Rome and back to high society. Our poor heroine has to deal with all the machinations of her mother, her uncle and the man she meets in Rome.
Enjoyed this book very much.
Intense, well presented plot involving a naive heiress with a strong mother who becomes the target of fortune hunter. She gets thru it with the help of some unconventional tutoring abroad where her eyes are opened about him and men in general. Lots of tension, sizzle and fun, good resolution!
A good Catherine Coulter book. Her characters are interesting and believable. As always sexy and spicy. The heroine, Giana, has fallen in love with a vicious fortune hunter. Her mother is desperate to save her daughter and agrees to support the wedding if Giana agrees first to spend an unusual three months in Rome. Thus, Giana first sees Alex in a brothel. Then she is one of the virgins to be sold to the highest bidder. He wins the bid and her, but not for long. Later he meets her in London and he is set on revenge.
I really enjoy Catherine Coulter's humor and the twist her books take. In Evening Star, you will fall in love with the characters and won't want to put it down.
