Barker follows up the best-selling The Great and Secret Show with an epic fantasy that opens in the Pacific Northwest.
I have not read either of these books.

An involving story with many characters. Clive Barker is a good writer. In "Everville", he has many interesting characters that you can care about. However, Barker's moral ambiguity I find weakens his stories. Everville is a town founded by a woman who is ageless. An equally ageless wizard is her archenemy who is determined to destroy Everville before he destroys the world. Various characters come to the rescue. Some fail, some die, and one does triumph (sort of) at the end. This is more of a fantasy/horror novel than just a horror novel. Many of the plot twists didn't make sense to me. Still was a good read.
