I am beginning to think that many people went away on vacation after requesting their books. I've sent out 8 books which should have arrived at their 8 new homes and have not been marked "received" yet. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah I've been seeing that a little lately too. I wish people would think to put their accounts on hold so that you can at least check their profile and see that they are away.

I have been away most of the last month and a half, with most weekends being home, so here may have been a delay of a week or so posting as received. Summer is the best time to consider Delivery Confirmation to assure that you get timely credits for your books.

IIRC there were a number of reports like this last summer, too.  By the time August is over, they should be marked received.

My orders seem to have really slowed down.  But the ones I've mailed seem to be marked in a timely fashion.

I had several books on my shelf time out due to no response and then go to the next person.  frustrating on my part because I had a LOT to mail out (mailed 8 books last night, most I've ever mailed at one time!  and still have 2 more to mail)

I am waiting on one book I have requested to be accepted...I do not like that the person offering the book has 5 days to accept the order.

I agree about not liking the 5 day response time to accept an order.  I'd rather see it drop to 48 hours or maybe 3 days at the maximum.  If the person can't mail right away they can always choose "I can mail later," but at least I'll know I'm going to get the book.

exactly...and then if they don't reply in 3 days then it will roll to the next person (who I hope is checking in!)   and I can't check to see who has the book to see if their shelf is on hold.  that happened to me before, their shelf was put on hold, probably just after I requested the book so until I cancelled it I had no way of knowing what the delay was for the owner.

I've run into that too - it seems to be taking longer and I'm putting that down to people off on vacation. However, with school starting that should end pretty soon.

I'm seeing a bit of a slowdown with my shelf lately too.  It seems the only things I send out lately are new posts I make that are on someone's wishlist.

C'mon people!  Keep the orders flowing!  It's called PaperbackSWAP, not PaperbackSTALL!!!  :) :)
