On Tuesday, June 10, 1997, in Orlando, Florida, Carla Ann Larson, 30, left work for a lunch break. She never returned. Happily married and mother of an infant daugher, Carla Ann had no reason to desert her family. Initially suspicious of husband James Larson's numb reaction, detectives were shocked to learn that his sister had been murdered by a serial killer in 1990. A massive search soon uncovered the beaten and strangled body of Carla Ann Larson. The burnt-out hulk of her Ford Explorer was found in the palmetto backwoods. Witnesses reported seeing an unknown man driving the vehicle after her disappearance.

If you like true crime then you'll like this book - riveting story line.

This is a true crime book. The story of the police investigation, arrest and court proceedings are very interesting. The husband did not kill his wife, a beautiful and young woman. A stranger did. A man with a criminal past and a violent one. This is a good book and a must read for any true crime fan.

If you don't mind the fact that the writer seams to be a rank amateur when it comes to writing true crime stories, you'll want to read this just for the facts of the murder alone.
As a Floridian and one who had lived through the awfulness of the "Gainesville Murders" in my own town, I found this story of great interest to me. Especially since it connects in a strange way to this horrible crime. A lovely young wife and mother is brutally strangled to death, then robbed of not only her car and jewelry, but her clothes too. The killer left her naked body under a Palmetto bush in a little used or known area of Orlando. The writer takes us through the intensive search for the killer and the two trials that ended in the death penalty for the vicious murderer. Little is left to the imagination.

This was a sad story. It was also unbelievable that the woman killed was related to the young woman killed by the Gainesville Killer.
