I understand that ex-library books are postable here as long as they meet other book conditions (no water stains, etc). However, I have a question about card pockets. Some of the older library books I have found at the FOL book sale still have the old manilla card pockets on the inside or back cover .  It is a small library and did not switch over to the scannable barcodes until a few years ago.

The Help documents say the following: Decirculated library books may have various markings and/or stamps inside or outside or on the page edges of the book; this is OKAY.  These may not obscure text.

So it does not specifically mention card holders or pockets. Are these postable if they meet the other criteria? What do you think, postable or not?

Thanks, Pamla

Yes, they are postable. That being said, I usually do my best to remove them before sending the books out, if I can do so without causing damage. You can usually slice them off pretty cleanly by sliding a warm butter knife between the book and the card pocket.
