How is it that I've been on PBS for almost 2 years and I'm just now discovering this board? I found the Historical Fiction board when I first joined and pitched my tent there immediately, rarely ever visiting other boards. I love the HF board, but I have a feeling I'll be spending some time over here now as well!
I came over here b/c of David Copperfield. I'm doing the HF Challenge and have chosen most of my books for it. But I've been itching to read David Copperfield and was trying to find a spot to put it in for the challenge, to no avail. Then I noticed a few ladies on the HF board mentioned that they were doing some Classics challenge. I did a search and discovered this lovely board!
And I'm thriled to find you all, b/c I have a bunch of classics on my list for this year- Don Quixote, Pickwick Papers, Middlemarch and The Three Musketeers, to name a few. I'm seriously considering trying the Classics challenge, but it might require a lot of reshuffling, as I'm not sure if a book I'm using for the HF challenge can also be used for the Classics challenge?
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi. I always feel like it's better to say hello before jumping right in to a new board! I'm Arika, and obviously I'm a big reader or I wouldn't be here. :) For fiction, I mostly read classics and historical fiction. Anything set after about 1920 usually doesn't pique my interest! I read a bunch of non-fiction as well, mostly books about history or spirituality (specifically meditation and yoga).
I look forward to chatting with you all!
