From the Publisher
It's the Golden Age of Blame, and no one knows that better than Craig Boldman and Pete Matthews. In this clever compendium, these authors/illustrators confirm what we've long secretly suspected: NOTHING IS OUR FAULT! To prove their point, they offer us a smorgasbord of excuses for every occassion, such as:
It was the alien experiments.
I haven't been the same since Elvis died.
My inner child made me do it.
As the authors say, blame isn't something that falls on someone; it's a fly to be shooed away, and only lands on the person who's not resourceful enough to avoid it.

But to make sure you're not that person, you'll need Every Excuse in the Book

A colleague of mine sent this to me as kind of a joke because of someone that was making bizarre excuses. What a riot! I kept it on the shelf above my daughter's "naughty spot" (time out place) and read it when I had to sit by her to make sure she actually stayed there. What a perfect book in a perfect setting! This was full of funny little one liner excuses... some highlights:
-I'm messed up from reading self-help books.
-I never got the memo.
-I'm a product of my environment.
-That's not a bug, it's a feature!
-The government hasn't banned it.
-My inner child made me do it.

I read this over several months while listening to my 3 year old melt down, the whole time laughing... :-)

Pages and pages of excuses. Sampling: on being late "I thought you were being approximate"; on diet failure "Gramps lived to be 103"; on speeding "I keep forgetting I'm not in Montana"; on being asked to do more work "I'm empowered but not that empowered."
