By Sin, men become liable to the Penalty of the Law, and fubjecl: to the Divine Difpleafure. By Repentance and Amendment after Tranfgreffion, ari- fes a Hope of Pardon, founded upon our natural Knowledge of God's eflential Attributes of Goodnefs and Compajfion.
