I have mixed feelings about this one. Its a good mystery story, with themes of love, loyalty, betrayal, attraction, trust and mistrust. But some of the characters are tedious. Ivy, the heroiene was betrayed by a former boyfriend, who wiped her out financially, and ruined her careeer and reputation as an accountant. She rebuilt her live, with a radio talk show, advising women to take care of themselves personally, and financially. Then some valuable statues with alleged magical effects on people are stolen, and Ivy's mother is suspected to be involved. Luke has been hired to find the figurines. He's pretty sure Ivy is the mastermind behind the whole thing. Luke's got some hang ups, too. Ivy's mother is portrayed as weak, gullible, almost mentally deficient. Its a good story, just repetetive in some places. The sex scenes are steamy.
