Some of you may be familiar with this infamous book or tale and I've noted that it is compared to the Song of Fire and Ice series by George R. R. Martin here at PBS. I'm curious as too who would compare these two works favorably?

I've never read either but I'm pretty sure that comparing a novella that is known for being so bad it's funny to an extremely popular, long, and (word has it) very well-written fantasy series is something only a computer would do.

Maybe it has something to do with the "sword and sorcery" tag.  If you click on that, you'll see the top book with that tag is A Clash of Kings.

lol, thanks. I had a feeling that the comparison was generated by the PBS system automatically.

I would also like to point out, as I recall, The Song of Fire and Ice series isn't so much "swords and sorcery" as "swords and intrigue." But, it's all fantastic so there's no point splitting hairs.
