I read quite a bit of Christian fiction. I teach at a Christian school so I'm always looking for suggestions for my students. Well, I just finished reading Riven by Jerry B. Jenkins, and I don't say this lightly. It was the best book I have read in a long time. It was so powerful and moving. Sincerely life changing. In fact, when I told my students about it yesterday, I started crying! Definitely a must read. It's a great story - raw at some points, mildly disturbing at others. But it's also encouraging and uplifting. By far the best Christian fiction novel I've ever read. Anyone else read this? |

I read it a couple of years ago & really liked it also. It is a story that will stay with me for a very long time! |

It's a wonderful book. I think it would make a good book for a discussion group ... or for those who have put their faith on the back burner for a while ... or for those who need to ponder anew the wonder of a loving God ... or for just about anyone. Another thought-provoking book with a not-so-happy, but very good ending is "The Great Divide" by Davis Bunn. |

Thanks for the suggestion, Bonita. I'll definitely look into it! I was hoping to find more books similar to Riven. But I think they are few and far between! |

Sarah - I read the description and added it to my WL. Have you read "Same Kind of Different as Me"? The description reminded me of that book, I enjoyed that one too. |

What age of students do you teach? I can make a lot of recommendations for kids, teens, or teens/adults interested in fantasy. |
