In the fifth installment of Emerson's Elizabethan mystery series, Susanna Appleton races against time to save two women unjustly accused of witchcraft. Emerson enlivens the story with a subplot about Susanna's new romance.

These books are all intriguing reads packed with plenty of details about life in Elizabethan times, from the food they ate, to herbal remedies, to the miseries of travel.

Fifth book in this great series featuring Lady Susanna Appleton. The history Emerson puts into these books is extremely interesting. Highly recommend this book and series!

A fun mystery set in Old England. This is one in a series that I've enjoyed by Kathy Emerson. She seems to have done a lot of research and the fun facts enhance the story.
