A disappointment after Entwined which was an exceptional book.
Fallen is the story of Gabriel, who was Nathan's dearest friend, thought dead, from Entwined. It was revealed he was alive at the end of the book. I'd looked forward to Fallen as there was a lot of build-up about Gabriel in Entwined. Then there was Maggie, also from Entwined, beautiful sister to Isobel.

Unfortunately, Fallen seems to be more about the history of the Isle of Skye after Culloden rather than a romance. The romance doesn't really even get off the ground until halfway through the book and I was never convinced they were meant for each other. Their few scenes didn't have any heat or chemistry. I thought she had more chemistry with the neighbor fellow.

Apart from the disappointing romance, while Emma Jensen clearly did her homework about Scotland and the Isle of Skye, it felt more like reading a history book than a novel. We were subjected to pages and pages of facts with little tying it into story or people.

So dissatisfied with this book, I'll probably not read another by this author. I read a review of the next book in this trilogy that says third book is like this one. Why waste my time?
