I liked this book very much! It portrays multiple generations of a family and their journey through life and through many difficult issues. It reads smooth as silk and is a page turner. Despite the difficult issues this book explores it is uplifting I think because the author sheds so much light on each character so that you can truly understand why they are as they are. You will be rooting for them throughout the book, and you'll be hooked by the big event which threads through every chapter until the very surprise ending. I highly recommend it! It made me think some of "We were the Mulvaney's" however the tone was much lighter and it was funny even in the craziness. The authors use of humor and blunt 'tell it like is' stark truth was refreshing. It has a lot of flashbacks but it's very skillfully written and I wasn't distracted by them.
