China is on its way to a nuclear high noon and the doomsday clock is ticking....great military adventure : )
Jon Masters and Patrick McLanahan create a monster, The EB-52 Megafortress to go up against the People's Republic of China. Another hit for Dale Brown.
This is the first Dale Brown novel I have read. And I really enjoyed it. China goes to war with Taiwan trying to recapture it's ancient territory. The US sends in a secret upgraded bomber, the EB52 Megafortress, to help Taiwan. Then all hell breaks loose.
Great storyteller. Action packed technology. The way Brown brings technical weaponry to life will amaze you. Superb author, fast paced action....great read.
Spell binding a great audio. A must listen to.
OK, let's see about this one ................
In this audio, the US is about to retire the B52 and other Heavy Bombers from service as many have determined that they are no longer needed as nuclear deterrents. At the same time, China has decided that it finally wants Taiwan back! China develops a plan whereby the US is seen as helping Taiwan and sabotaging various Chinese efforts at reclaiming the island nation. As in past (and probably future) Brown books, you find McClannahan as well as General Brad Elliot along with their new "toys" from Skymasters Inc. attempting to turn the tide of the onslought. One surprising aspect of this hypothetical scenario is that China actually deploys and uses nukes to further their cause.
This is a fast paced audio with a lot of information coming at you.
One minor annoying feature, the narrator uses the same voice for different characters, thereby making it a little difficult to determine who is talking. No Biggy!
Good Listen! Lots of action for those interested.
Fatal Terrain is a 1997 techno-thriller novel written by Dale Brown. It is set a few weeks after the ending of Shadows of Steel.
Despite the liberal posters and armchair military experts, I loved this book! Sure, many of the weapons and situations are fictional .
The excessive military jargon was almost humorous and actually fun to read. Brown makes sure you know what all the acronyms mean. The situations and flight duals with jets and missiles were great. The plot had some great twists. It had me looking up all the different aircraft used. A fun and hard to put down book, I would highly recommend it!
