Once upon a time...

... there was a man named Tim Harper. He was born in Anno Domini 1945, probably dropped dead in 1970, using the same rather dead calendar, and was last seen gallivanting about in the year 47,923 by the Long Count--or maybe 90,000 on what he was used to, having gone AWOL for three thousand years in an invisible flying saucer, accompanied by Niculponoc Onnul Nyjuc, who was the most beautiful girl in the world. Several worlds.

What else? Oh, yes, the flying saucer happened to be a time machine. And the girl was a mind reader.
