Once upon a time...
... there was a man named Tim Harper. He was born in Anno Domini 1945, probably dropped dead in 1970, using the same rather dead calendar, and was last seen gallivanting about in the year 47,923 by the Long Count--or maybe 90,000 on what he was used to, having gone AWOL for three thousand years in an invisible flying saucer, accompanied by Niculponoc Onnul Nyjuc, who was the most beautiful girl in the world. Several worlds.
What else? Oh, yes, the flying saucer happened to be a time machine. And the girl was a mind reader.
The lights went out. The sun itself disappeared. A strange, turquoise band swept the darkened sky. And Tim Harper, alone in an MIT dormitory, watched Boston disintegrate.
Caught in a time field, Harper was cut off from his world. And so he began a journey through swiftly changing seasons--and walked 90,000 years into the future.
Amid when he could go no farher, he was captured by the clansmen of Alghera, who were fighting hopelessly for their freedom. Now,with Harper;s time machine, the Algherans could try to change history... and win the war they were fated to lose.
